2013 IoT Summit

Our very own Hans Scharler will be joining the Financing the Internet of Things session:

Access to both public and private funding is essential for smaller companies and start-ups as they look to commercialise innovative IoT products and bring them to market. The Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine Communications are recognised by many global investors as key drivers for economic growth and major tools for enhancing overall competitiveness. North America is seen by many as the leading region to secure investment for emerging technologies, but in the current economic climate, competition for funding is often fierce, and companies seeking investments in the region and beyond are finding it increasingly difficult.

The “Financing the Internet of Things” panel is moderated by Stephen Fleming, Executive Director of the Enterprise Innovation Institute, Georgia Institute of Technology and includes the following panelists:

ioBridge joins an impressive list of Organizers & Sponsors for the 2013 M2M & Internet of Things Global Summit:

The 2013 M2M & Internet of Things Global Summit looks to be an amazing 2-day event pushing IoT and M2M initiatives forward. It is great to see the involvement and cooperation of many companies and agencies.

tiConf 2013 – Appcelerator Titanium Conference in Baltimore

Join Hans Scharler of ioBridge at tiConf, a mobile development conference based around JavaScript and Appcelerator Titanium, for his talked titled, “Driving the Internet of Things with Mobile Apps“.

The “Internet of Things” is a pervasive concept and movement where devices are being connected to the Internet and interaction with devices, social networks, and people are being built. In general things are sensors and actuators which include things such as temperature sensors, energy monitors, radiation detectors, lights, thermostats, and sprinklers.

In the talk “Driving the Internet of Things with Mobile Apps” by Hans Scharler, you will discover that mobile apps are leading the development of the Internet of Things. A mobile device becomes the user interface for a device and all of the supporting features. An app is the center of the entire experience and in fact the mobile device is an Internet of Things device. In order to keep up, apps need to be nimble and must support iOS and Android out-of-the-box. Hans will discuss how Titanium is being used by ioBridge to solve the common issues and patterns for the Internet of Things.

tiConf is open to developers interested in topics around mobile app development and Appcelerator Titanium, “an open, extensible development environment for creating beautiful native apps across different mobile devices and OSs including iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry, as well as hybrid and HTML5”. Learn more about the Internet of Things, mobile app development techniques, and the very latest developments with Appcelerator Titanium at this year’s tiConf.

Visit the Interactive ioBridge Exhibit at the Connected World Conference, June 10-12

Connect World LogoFollowing the The Connected World M2M App Challenge, ioBridge will be exhibiting at the Connected World Conference from June 10-12 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. We have prepared an interactive booth displaying our connected products, some of our customer products, and the latest technology that we have to offer. Our booth theme is “Embedded / Cloud / Apps” – we have put together the most complete set of tools for OEMs and professionals to build connected products and services. We believe that connected products should be out-of-the-box and have seamless cloud connectivity. This is the focus of our research, patents, and technology offerings. But, we extend this to cloud by offering APIs and services that are common in many product situations. The last piece of the puzzle is Apps. Apps are how users connect with these products and services. We believe this should be the focus of OEMs development not the connectivity and scale challenges. We have tried to make a compelling solution among the embedded side, cloud connectivity and services, and applications.

Visit the ioBridge exhibit (booth #207) and check out the latest connected products and services! We hope to see you there. Follow hashtag #CWConf13 to see what’s happening via Twitter.

ioBridge will also be providing an exclusive hardware development kit that is integrated with our RealTime.io platform. This means that you will be able to make simple RESTful API calls and control physical objects and connect to external web services such as Twilio, Twitter, and ThingSpeak. The M2M Challenge Kit is based on the ioBridge Iota Wi-Fi module. This tiny embedded module contains everything you need to connect products to cloud services. The kit includes buttons, switches, LEDs, relays, light sensor, temperature sensor, and a buzzer. For more detail on ioBridge’s M2M Challenge Kit check out Connected World’s article.
